Flyindog Records, LLP and the Kenneth Dunn Agency were established in 1997. We are a Houston based record label and music booking agency whose objective is to promote Texas artists and their music and to let people know through the words of their music what the artists are thinking, where they are, where their mindset is, and why they write what they do. The first Flyindog Records, LLP artist was Brad McCool and along the way we have worked with everyone from Calvin Owens (BB King's band leader for over 15 years) to the Fabulous Thunderbirds. These days FDR finds itself busy with new projects by the Mark May Band, Caleb Emphrey, Swan Lee, and David Vidal.

The Kenneth Dunn Agency primarily books Blues, Roots and Americana music for festivals, including the Houston International Festival, the Texas Crawfish Festival, Mississippi Blues Festival, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, as well as clubs ranging from Billy Blues and Rockefellers in Houston to Tippitinas in New Orleans and casinos all up and down the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We are a member of BMI and ASCAP and have worked with artists from Tommy Castro and Texas Johnny Brown to the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Mark May.

A life in transition?

Teaching school was Peter?s first love and profession. He was a successful teacher and basketball/baseball coach in 1963. Seven years later the insurance industry came calling and Peter made the switch, becoming Rookie-of-the-Year and receiving recognition for many outstanding efforts to become an officer of the company. Starting his own agency, Peter recruited and trained others to be successful sales agents, including his son Daryl, who is a now a highly successful money manager.

Along the way, Kenneth L. Dunn, Peter?s partner in the insurance business, started a record label and publishing company called ?Flyindog Records, LLP?. Kenneth?s goal was to book and promote Texas musicians. Peter became Kenneth?s partner after Kenneth read a poem that Peter had written and sent it to a musician where it was put to music. And as the saying goes, ?the rest is history?.

Peter continues to write poetry. He treasures a collection written by his mother. Peter, along with wife and the real love of his life, Nancy, has three adult children, Daryl, Darcy and Dori, and four grandchildren, Logan, Luke, Ava ?Rita? and Kyle ?K.J.?
